Legality for first


Last days in Pescara, 7/8/9 April, there was “Legality Dinner” with Chef Filippo Cogliandro.

Guest of Lions Host Pescara, part of annual program “Ethics and Legality” with the entire Lions Zone, then May 23rd  guest of Pistoia CNA at Dinamo Camp and July 7th  in Rome at Hotel Gianicolo, expropriated from mafia for “Food of life” in Legality Dinner, the story of resistance in different parts of Italy and the world.

Pescara Lions Club invited Calabrian Chef Filippo Cogliandro, neo Antiracket Ambassador for food and beverage worldwide, for a very important Legality moment, an event that aims to remember all innocent victims of criminal violence of mafia and remember extraordinary will and civil commitment of Lions, near who daily fight against all crime for Legality Culture and Social Justice.

By now you can see that mafia tentacles have infiltrated in restaurant business, in fact, already in 2011 our President of Senate, Pietro Grasso, estimated a turnover of one billion Euros and surely this has increased exponentially.

And chef Filippo Cogliandro, which operates in difficult Calabrian reality, true to his belief that “silence kills”, tells of his experience as an entrepreneur who has rebelled against “extortion” logic with Dinners of Legality, a project born in 2012 in Florence to realize a tour in many Italian cities and abroad, its cuisine… a common thread to celebrate emotions and knowledge, a social network for people, a way to come together and write a new page of a common history.

His journey “use” cousine, to tell his courageous story that has made him one of Symbol against mafia in Italy: Filippo is owner of Calabrian restaurant Academy (Reggio Calabria) and in 2008 he rebelled and denounced his extortionists. Since then, his life has changed and he start to diffuse legality, culminated with creation of the first beach “Free”, Association against Mafia of Don Luigi Ciotti, and the birth of Legality Dinners Project in 2012.

Gastronomic Tour of ” Legality Dinners” of Filippo Cogliandro continues so, this project tells a story about a chef who has rebelled against mafia, who hasn’t bodyguards, who wants to tell his story primarily at young people in school… because … silence kills …

Chef Filippo Cogliandro offers during his world trip an”ethical food” models changing gastronomy, promoting local cultures and against food waste.

All stop are Aquila, Palermo, Mexico City, Manaus.

In his menu each recipe is an excuse to explore products, to tell life, people and places stories, an Italian story, a rare and rich flavors and fragrances mix, local gastronomic traditions, its cuisine and its traditional products. Each recipe has always combination with wine and deep study on local products.
